Live Tisbe copepods (Tisbe biminiensis) -- Buffalo Reef Biologics pods!
Live Tisbe copepods for sale, in 8 oz. or 16 oz. bottles.
These copepods, unlike Tigriopus californicus, are easier for your Mandarin to catch and are very hardy.
Great for seeding a reef tank, these detrivores are awesome for your tank. They will add another link to the natural food chain in your tank, and will help rid the sand bed of detritus.
Feed fish directly or seed the sand bed. Seed at night with a short piece of small diameter pipe. Place one end of the pipe down close to the sand bed and slowly pour the copepods into it.
We use pristine water, and only aquarium-safe fertilizer (for the phytoplankton we feed the copepods with). We use premium salt mixed with RODI water only, so there'll be no phosphates or nitrates going into your tank.
Note: Tisbe are MUCH smaller than Tigriopus, and look like dust particles suspended in the water. When you receive them, if you hold a flashlight behind the container, and hold it against a dark background, you will see them swim every so often, but not always. The water will sometimes seem tinted yellow or very light green; this is normal, and is the phytoplankton we feed the pods.
If you don't use the whole container, refrigerate remainder. They're said to keep up to 30 days.
